The week before out club tournament, Jeff Vincent and I fished another tournament and had three fish weighing 18lbs all from the river. Knowing that they were dropping water at Fall’s Lake, I decided not to go to the river, and at the last minute decided to go to the other end of the lake. I found a small point with pea-gravel and started with a spinner bait. I caught one fish but had no other bites. I switched over to a crank bait (Lucky craft) and caught another fish. I stayed at this one spot until 10:00 and then went looking for another spot sort of the same. After being gone for about one hour I returned to my first spot to find another boat sitting on it. I wanted them to leave, knowing that they were not. I pulled back up on the same spot, throwing a crank bait and caught nine fish with three more keeper fish. By the way, I used a feather on my rear hook, did that make a difference? I’ll never know. All I can say is I had a great day and was proud to catch 13.05 lbs. |
