Man I love Hyco lake!  I live for these January tournaments water temps. any ware from 70` to 45` anything is possible.  The water was on rise in pre fishing and fishing was pretty good.  All of my better bites had been on top water but with all of the fresh water I didn't think that bite would be there.  On tournament day fifteen minutes in I knew the top water wasn't on.  I struggled to catch a fish until about 10:30 when I tied on a crank bait and caught three keepers in three cast.  After catching five more throw backs I made a move to some colder water [46`] and finished my limit with the blade.  My two better fish came after twelve on a rock pile in the cold water.  I am looking forward to next mouths tournament!
