Preview - One weekend ago we had record temp highs in the 80’s. Weather has since stabilized with lows in the 40’s at night. During the day with highs in the 60’s. Water temp one week ago in the mid 50’s as a high. With water warming up to 59 degrees and stable weather, we expect a good bite.
Blastoff – We have 11 fishermen and 1 fishing lady battling 36 degree temps with wind quite mild at only 5mph out of the north.
Review – All together we had an above average weigh in. A total of 21 fish equal 47.06 pounds. With one 5 fish limit of 12.95 pounds, the top honor belonged to Tim Goss. In second place was Dave Overman with 4 fish weighing 10.91 pounds. Third place went to Chris Massey with 4 fish also weighing 6.82 pounds. Big fish honors went to Alan Massey with a 4.90 lunker.
Patterns – The jig and pig prevails! Goss focused on beaver huts early. Also secondary points later in the day. Overman caught his sack in creeks cranking grass. Chris Massey was also targeting fish with crank baits. The biggest fish was caught with a spinner bait. Oh yeah, there was extremely aggressive jack pattern on anything! |
