TOURNAMENT MEETINGS

MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES
1. Conduct yourself as a lady or gentleman at all meetings and tournaments.
2. Maintain a sportsman’s attitude while in competition with others.
3. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or drugs allowed.
4. Each member is responsible to maintain herself/himself in good character so that our club will always be in good standing in every place that it is represented.
5. Any member questioning the conduct of another member should first speak to that member. If she/he fails to listen, then she/he may bring allegations first to the club president, then to the club at any meeting. The member accused may give answers for herself/himself.
CLUB RIGHTS
1. Southern Bass Masters, official or its members, will NOT be held liable for the actions of any individual causing injury to themselves or others, or the destruction of property at any tournament or gathering.
2. Southern Bass Masters reserve the right to grant membership. If membership is turned down for any reason, the person applying for membership will be notified in writing as to the reason for refusal.
3. Southern Bass Masters reserve the right to withdraw a membership for the following reasons:
4. The annual business meeting will be held in December of each year to elect officers, set lakes and dates for tournaments. The Club rules will be discussed, reviewed and revised, if needed at this meeting. Following this meeting, club rules are subject to change through the February business meeting.
5. Any tournament can be changed for weather or poor fishing report if fished same date. Must be closer than scheduled tournament to home.
6. There will be a treasurer report presented to the club quarterly.
TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES
1. You must pay dues before you participate in monthly tournaments. All monies for tournaments must be paid to the treasurer prior to blast off. Failure to meet this deadline will result in disqualification from that tournament.
2. Members must have paid six months due to be eligible for any fish off tournaments if held.
3. All tournament starting and finishing times will be determined at a monthly meeting prior to the tournament.
4. Set your watch at the start of the tournament with the Tournament Director or his designee. Upon return have your boat behind the ramp marker.
5. Blast-off order will be determined by draw for the first tournament and by club standings for the remaining tournaments. Boaters can leave when previous boat has planed off.
6. Livewells may be checked before boats blast off. If you are late getting to a tournament, you can fish the tournament after locating another boating member of the club, who was present at blast off, and having them check your livewell. You must have verification at weigh-in from the same member before your fish can be counted.
7. Winner of tournaments can be determined the day of the tournament. Prizes or trophies will be given to the winners at the club meeting following that tournament.
8. Payback is based on membership paid to the winner(s) of the main points tournament.
9. The result of any boat late for weigh-in will be 1 pound deducted for each minute they are late up to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes they are disqualified.
10. The Tournament Directors and Weigh Masters will conduct each tournament, check lake levels, boat ramps and has the responsibility to postpone a club tournament and/or change boat ramp and/or lake due to unsafe boating conditions or severe weather. Unsafe boating conditions and/or severe weather or poor fishing reports will be defined and decided by the Tournament Directors and Club President. Any change in tournament date or lake must have two thirds vote by meeting or phone by the club president only. .
11. It is recommended July and August tournaments will be from safe light until 1:00 p.m.
12. It is recommended the September tournament be held during the last half of the month.
WEIGH-INS
1. Scoring positions are determined by weight of the fish.
2. Two ounces will be deducted for each dead fish weighed in.
3. Members will be able to weigh in two fish 12 inches or greater and the remaining three must be 14 inches or greater. The exception to this rule is fish caught at lakes with greater than 14 inch size limit. In these cases the lake size limit will prevail. The club provides a Golden Rule for you to check your fish size, and the same Golden rule will be used by the Tournament Director / Weigh Master at the official weigh in. In addition you may request a courtesy check by the Tournament Director / Weigh Master before the official weigh in.
4. Any fish weighed in under the club length limit will result in the loss of the undersize fish and the loss of the largest fish in the creel.
SAFETY AND COURTESY GUIDELINES
There are no club penalties for these guidelines
1. Wear life preservers any time you are using the combustible engine.
2. Observe all safety regulations around docks, ramps and all posted areas.
3. Keep all safety equipment in good condition.
4. If you have any health problems that could affect your safety and/or the safety of others, please discuss this with your club or one of the officers.
